Awww... not to get all soupy slappy happy, but you should look at Stacy's site to get a rundown on the old engagement. It ROX. And there's a link to another site that has many pictures of a party thrown in the honor of said engagement. Enjoy.
Peace,
Joe
I have nothing really to talk about, but I felt a post was in order. So here it is. I would like to formally congratulate Da Peeg and sometime-to-be-sister-in-law Stacy on their little "engagement." Yens. Stacy R O X (as does the Peeg, of course) Hmmm.... what else.... Oh! I am working in "The Cellar" at this moment (what else is new?) And that is all. If you want to play games at work, go here. I recommend "Mummy Chase" and "Candy Train" for absolutely useless diversion.
Hope everyone is well.
Peace,
Joe

Ok, enough of my happy nerd rant.
I hope everyone is well.

I take it back. Here is a link to the story. (About Jordan.) If you would like the background, look at my last latest post.
Peace,
Joe
Six. Six Degrees. And the forecast keeps on a'plumitin'. Tonight it will be 19 and tomorrow the high will be 28 but then... 6. The windchill will be below zero. And here on "The Hilltop" we almost always experience temperatures a few degrees lower than the rest of the city. I just would like to know why the H-E-DOUBLE-HOCKEY-STICKS its not going to snow if its going to bother being so f-ing cold. C'mon now, Ma Nature. Help me out. Its only snowed once when I've been here at 'Southern, and I missed it. I want to slide down our huge hills on my very old and disturbingly discolored dorm mattress just so I can say "yes, I need a new mattress, mine is stuck in a snow drift." oh well. I suppose I will have to settle for the bitter, bitter cold. Speaking of cold, #23 Michael Jordan passed Wilt Chamberlin on the all-time scoring list at number three today. They haven't finished the game yet, so I cannot provide a link. But you should go to ESPN and find it under NBA, if you care (which you should). I'm at work again, but the cold is keeping folks away mostly. Alas, time to go make some of the coffee.
Hope everyone is well.
Peace,
Joe

Another day, another blogger.
It is sunday and I am sitting in the Cellar drinking Darjeeling tea and waiting for customers. It is one of those nights when it is so slow that I have time to come over and type on the computer. Yep, I am on the clock as we speak. The only person that has been in here is Nick (as in my younger brother) and he helped me open and then went to go do laundry. Nick and I hung out today and he decided to come back up to 'Southern (I went to t-town for most of the day) becasue he has MLK day off tomorrow. Should be much fun. I get off at 10pm and then I think we're heading to Late Night Cafe for some food and then inevitably we will play some NBA Hangtime. Tomorrow morning we are going to get up and work out, then he's going back to Tuscaloosa and I'm working on the few Grad school apps I have left. It was a great feeling turning some in this weekend... soon all I have to do is wait (and worry). Anyway, I have jynxed (no, I don't know how to spell that) myself and a customer is here. I hope eveyone is well. Off to the coffee makin'.

Peace,
Joe

It worked! Let me just remind you all that it was just a silly test and that I am a Cathuddist, not just Catholic or Buddhist. Anyway, its late and stuff and I must be off to the bed. CYA!

Peace,
Joe
Ok. I have never tried this, so here is a landmark in the web page of Joe. I will now attempt to put some code on this page to allow you to see a graphic and link to a cool religion test that I just took. As you will see (if this works) I got Buddhism as my main squeeze (Roman Catholicism was at the bottom of the list for me... that I found odd). Anyway, here's the thingie (if it works)
According to the SelectSmart.com Belief System Selector, my #1 belief match is Mahayana Buddhism.

During this "New Year" I have been pondering the mysteries of many "things." Of interest to this site might be the value of its name. "Hmmmm" I thought to myself, "Why does Mr. T love Buddha?" Well the answer may be more simple than you think... Mr. T often "pities the fool." Buddha, too "Pities fools" and invites them to become self-aware and encourages them to strive for enlightenment. In fact, Buddha may call us all fools (not in a disparaging way, mind you) until we are all enlightened. Mr. T wants us to "stay in school." What better way to gain knowledge than through school? And knowledge is the way to enlightenment! Mr. T might choose to use the word "sucka" many times in one episode of "The A Team." Think about what "sucka" sounds like.... you got it, SUTRA! Maybe what a frustrated Mr. T is trying to say is, "Pray the heart, mind and chakra SUTRAS!" Well, isn't he? Aren't we all. The similarities are endless I tell you.
I am in the library trying to do work. I have found that when I am trying to research lately my mind tends to wander toward things like why Mr. T loves Buddha instead of the Correspondance Bias and Spotlight Effect, which is what I should be reading about. I saw my family today, more than I usually do, anyway. Mama, Daddy, Liz, Nick and I all went to Mass and then Daddy and Nick and I went to a 'Southern basketball game. It was great. Then daddy bought me food and this awesome cup that allows you to cook most anything right in the microwave. Amazing what technology exists these days, isn't it?
Oh yeah, and Michael Jordan rocks. The Wizards have won their last 7 out of 8 and are play-off bound.
Hmmmm.... what else. Oh yeah! I think one of the funniest things in the world is the cartoon "Parsnips-a-plenty" on Homestar Runner's website. Thanks, Nick, for introducing me to that grand expanse of wasted time. Anyway, go to the site and find it under "toons." It'll be well worth your time.
Off to read I suppose.

Hope everyone is well.

Peace,
Joe

Let me just say that I have no idea who the hacker is that keeps changing the comment script to "poseurs", but I ask that he/she put down the Cheetos, wipe the orange film from their stubby little fingers, turn on the lights, turn off the X-files theme that has been on repeat since they were 13, and go out and get some air. Please. The world is filled with delights of all kinds. Discover them, my bored friend. Discover.
I know it seems rediculous sometimes (even to me) but I think Michael Jordan is SUPA KEEN and that he most certainly should have come back this second time and that it is awesome to watch an old dude show up every few nights and put "the hurt" on all these youngin's. Where's the proof that he can still play? Some still ask that. Well my friends, here you go. Oh yes. Marvelous.

Peace,
Joe

So I haven't posted on my site in a long time, and for that I am very sorry. I know that the masses rely upon my witty reparte (no, I don't know how to spell that word) for entertainment, but remember, there's always boogie dancin'! So to make it up to you, here is a picture that might just make your day.
So hmmm.... oh yes. I am back in school! Interim term started yesterday and things will soon be in "the full swing" as some say. I am doing more research (such is the life of a hopefully-soon-to-be-grad-student) and that is fine with me. Applying to Grad school will also take up much time, but it will all be over in less than a month now, as the deadlines all end around the first of February. It will be nice to sit back and wait for all the rejection letters. JUST KIDDING! HA! Seriously, I know I won't get in everywhere I am applying, but then again there is always the Anniston Beauty Academy on West Noble. I can see it now, "Joe's Barber Shop, where Joe cuts Hair, not corners." Or something like that.
I have had a string of the weirdest dreams lately. Many are worth posting, but one in particular is pretty funny. The other night I couldn't sleep as I was awakened by this dream several times. (WARNING: If you are not familiar with the characters Pnutbu and Jellee, then this will neither be funny at all or make ANY sense. If you are it still might not be funny at all.) Here's the scene: My family and a few friends are having a party at this huge house that is actually the Tardis from Dr. Who. Pnutbu and Jellee are hosting. Jellee is decked out in a brown three piece suit and a bowler that has the front brim turned up. Pnutbu is wearing a Keystone Kop outfit with the hat cocked to the side, opposite his glasses. Everyone is dancing to Beck's "Tropicalia" when a robber comes in and asks for all the bread they can spare. When everyone looks at him funny he says "Ok wise guys, out with the bread!" Then Peeg and Will and Liz make funny Ninja sounds and thrust their fists forward, and start saying, "Wind, Water, Heart!" and daddy jumps up and says "By your powers combined, I AM CAPTAIN PLANET!" Then Peeg starts to sing the theme song, but with words that he made up to it. I cannot post all of them here, but it starts with "Captain Planet, he's a hebrew..." Yens. Anyway Daddy foils the plan and we all return to the party, with Mama leading the Charelston. Pnutbu and Jellee get "Host of The Year" awards and it makes the front page of every newspaper, with the headlines spinning up like in a movie. I always wake up then. When I go back to sleep there it is again.
Oh well. Today is band practice day. It'll be a bit toned down I imagine, since I had like a bazillion bloods drawn yesterday at the doctor's office.
I hope everyone is well. And I know she doesn't read this site, becasue she probably doesn't really knwo about it, but congratulations to Caroline! Allen is a great guy, and all this makes me feel really f-ing old.

Hope everyone is well.

Peace,
Joe
